educationprogram

Our education program works to break the cycle of generational poverty by assisting the most vulnerable households with mandatory school fees.

We believe in the transformative power of education.

Sunny Futures is working to bridge the education gap for vulnerable youth in Eastern Africa. We have been working in  Isingiro District located near Mbarara, Uganda since 2018 supporting the education for vulnerable children from households that are unable to cover school fees.

Although the annual school fees are nominal by Western standards - $69 per student per year - it is much too expensive for many households living on less than $2 per day. Many households in the region lack formal employment and are sustenance farmers.

A photo of Prince, a young student at Rutsya Primary School in Mbarara, Uganda before he receive a new uniform (left). Prince was provided a new uniform through our education program (sweater, dress shirt, shorts, socks, and shoes) - the very first one he has ever had. Since receiving the uniform, Prince feels happier and more accepted by others at school.

For only $60, a uniform completely changes the mindset and confidence of a young student.
